LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE is used to treat constipation associated with piles, anal fissures, hernia, cardiovascular disorders, endoscopy, bowel clearance before radioscopy, pre/post-operative conditions, elderly and bed-ridden patients. Constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements in which the stools are often dry, painful, and hard to pass.

LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE contains liquid paraffin as lubricant, Milk Of Magnesia as hyperosmotic laxative, and Sodium picosulphate as stimulant laxative. Liquid paraffin works by lubricating the bowels and softening the stools. Milk of magnesia works by increasing the osmotic gradient in the gut by drawing the water into the intestine,in this way it helps in bowel evacuation. Sodium picosulphate works by preventing water absorption in the colonic lumen and stimulating the colon’s propulsive activity, thereby promoting water accumulation. Together, LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE helps to get rid from constipation.

To treat your condition effectually, continue taking LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE according to your prescription. Drink plenty of fluids (at least 6-8 glasses) while taking LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE to prevent dehydration. LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE should not be taken for more than a week as it might cause dependency on LIQUID PARAFFIN+MILK OF MAGNESIA+SODIUM PICOSULFATE for a bowel movement.Consult your doctor if you notice any sudden changes in bowel habits which persist for over 10-14 days.
